Melinda was fortunate to be the Event Chairman for KCRAR's 2006 Realtor Resource Rally held March 30, 2006 at The Overland Park Convention Center. The keynote speaker was Kevin Green, President of Kevin Green Homes, the general contractor for Extreme Makeover - Home Edition, Kansas City. Kevin spoke to a full house and told his story of how he was asked to build and donate a new home, not only in record time but also on national television. Kevin accepted the challenge and with his leadership, the 4200 square foot home was built ready to be turned over to the designers in just 4 days and 4 hours. The home was for local hero, Stephen Johnson. Stephen was the firefighter who saved Mary Seymour, the paramedic, when she was shot in the line of duty. Stephen was a hardworking single dad with 3 kids. He then proceeded to adopt 2 other neighbor boys whose foster mother had died. They were living in a 3 bedroom house and Stephen was just trying to make ends meet. After Mary recovered from her surgery, she was so indebted to Stephen for saving her life, she didn't know what to do to repay him. She had stopped by the fire station with cookies during an episode of  Extreme Makeover - Home Edition. That's when Mary decided to nominate Stephen for the show! Since the show, he has adopted another boy and is currently in the process of looking for twin girls. The man has a heart of gold and loads of patience!

Kevin's energy, passion to achieve and his motto to "Live By Design" was an inspiration for the entire audience. It's definitely a concept for a richer, more fulfilling life! Many business groups throughout Kansas City are requesting Kevin's presence to hear his success story and ask.............
